WATCH: White House addresses tax bill, Trump’s anti-Muslim tweets

White House Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders fielded questions Thursday over the latest developments on the GOP tax bill and the pushback against President Donald Trump’s retweets of anti-Muslim videos from a far-right British group.

On Wednesday, Senate lawmakers voted to begin debating the provisions of the GOP tax bill. The Senate could vote on the amendments to the bill as early as Thursday evening.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said he would back the bill, while Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, remains a known Republican holdout on the overall tax package.

“I have a lot of concerns that I’m trying to fix,” she told reporters at a breakfast Thursday.

While the tax bill is being debated on the Senate floor, the president continued to received criticism for his anti-Muslim retweets, an action that angered several political leaders around the world. Trump responded, in particular, to British Prime Minister Theresa May’s criticism of the tweets, telling her to not focus on him, but to address the “destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom.”
