Huckabee Sanders had been tentatively scheduled to speak at 1:30 p.m. ET. Earlier Monday, Trump tweeted attacks against Democrats in Congress, saying they would obstruct his tax overhaul plan, the Associated Press reported. He also said he shared Steve Bannon’s anger with Congressional Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, over their work while in office, according to the Associated Press Monday. And then Trump appeared with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at his side in the Rose Garden to offer wide-ranging press briefing where he took questions and commented on everything from the opioid crisis to the Russia probe to hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
