White House National Economic Council director Larry Kudlow may further address comments he made this morning on the president wanting to take a different approach to NAFTA negotiations.
Kudlow told Fox News that President Donald Trump wants break NAFTA deals into two separate talks with Mexico and Canada, Politico reported.
“He is very seriously contemplating kind of a shift in the NAFTA negotiations. His preference now, and he asked me to convey this, is to actually negotiate with Mexico and Canada separately,” Kudlow said on Fox News. “He prefers bilateral negotiations and he‘s looking at two, much different countries,” Kudlow added.
