Bannon blasted the "arrogance" of AI leaders and warned of "oligarchs" in much the same way Sanders does regularly.

Speaking from the same stage earlier in the afternoon, Sanders called AI and robotics "the most transformational technologies in the history of the world" and said the public should have a greater say in how the industry develops.

"If the lives of every man, woman and child are going to be fundamentally changed by this technology, then the people of this country must make the decisions about AI, and not just a handful of oligarchs," Sanders said.
