Sit Down in Wisconsin will be President Biden’s First Interview Following his State of the Union
Tuesday, February 7, 2023 (Arlington, VA) — PBS NewsHour senior correspondent Judy Woodruff will interview President Joe Biden in DeForest, Wisconsin, on Wednesday afternoon, February 8, for that evening’s broadcast. It will be his first national interview following the State of the Union address the night prior. Woodruff’s previously postponed interview with President Biden comes as she prepares to launch her new reporting series “America at a Crossroads,” examining the many divisions fracturing the United States. The conversation will be the first of many she has with Americans across the nation, of all political persuasions, seeking to understand how they see the country, the sources of these divides, and whether they see prospects for healing. After stepping down as anchor of PBS NewsHour at the end of 2022, Woodruff began preparations for this two-year reporting project, which will take the NewsHour to small towns, large cities, suburbs and rural areas across America.
Clips of the interview will be shared on NewsHour’s digital and social platforms Wednesday afternoon in advance of that evening’s broadcast. They will also be made available for high-res download here. Media wishing to excerpt portions of the interview can also roll on NewsHour’s Wednesday night broadcast. TV and web restrictions below.
