(Arlington, VA)- PBS NewsHour Digital Correspondent Hari Sreenivasan will moderate a Google+ “Fireside Hangout” with Vice President Joe Biden Thursday, January 24 at 1:45 ET. The topic will be gun violence, an issue at the forefront of American’s minds following the tragic school shootings in Newtown, CT. The conversation, is the latest in PBS NewsHour’s coverage of “The Gun Debate”.
Following the shootings, Vice President Joe Biden led a gun violence task force with participants from a wide spectrum of gun interests. Now, citizens from across the country can make their voice heard via this Google hangout. In addition to Vice President Biden, participants include new media experts: Guy Kawasaki, one of Apple’s original employees; Kimberley Blaine, executive producer of the Go-To MomTM web series; and video blogger Phil DeFranco .
