Arlington, VA (Monday, November 10) — PBS News reached millions across its digital and social platforms during its Election Day 2025 coverage as the legacy media brand remains a trusted source of news and information for major political events. On its website, PBS News provided real-time election results, live updates, and original election-related content, which garnered 2.2 million active users and 5.1 million page views.
In total on Election Day, PBS News saw more than 2.8 million views on YouTube, with a 7.7% click through rate across all video on the platform, and an overall average watch time exceeding 5 minutes. PBS News produced live streams of simultaneous events on Election Day and into the evening, including various candidates’ concession and acceptance speeches, with more than 1.7 million views. Coverage also included a live conversation on Wednesday morning discussing the election results with Capitol Hill correspondent Lisa Desjardins and White House correspondent Liz Landers. As of Sunday, PBS News had surpassed 9.7 million views across its YouTube channel since Election Day.
PBS News’ TikTok channel, which has gained over a million followers in the last year to a total of 2.6 million today, also achieved large audiences on Election Day. All video published to the platform on Tuesday had more than 3 million views, with an additional 120,000 views on TikTok live video. PBS News repurposed election-related content originally aired on broadcast, including a preview of the New York City mayoral race that amassed 2.4 million views.
On Instagram, Facebook, and Threads, PBS News totaled 2 million impressions and 190,000 engagements with a global engagement rate of 9.2% across the platforms.
