PBS NewsHour Returns with Live Broadcast of Impeachment Hearings

The PBS NewsHour returns with live, anchored coverage of the House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee Impeachment Hearing. Coverage for this week’s hearing will begin at 10:00 am ET on Wednesday, December 4th.

Anchor and Managing Editor Judy Woodruff will anchor the special broadcast with contributions from NewsHour correspondents including Capitol Hill correspondent Lisa Desjardins and White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindoramong others.

Expected guests include: 

Frank Bowman is one of 19 lawyers who submitted testimony on the definition of “high crimes and misdemeanors” to House Judiciary Committee during the Clinton impeachment. Bowman was a trial attorney in the Justice Department’s Criminal Division for three years and, in the 1990s, he was Special Counsel to the U.S. Sentencing Commission in D.C. He has testified numerous times on sentencing before the House and Senate Judiciary Committees. Bowman’s latest book is High Crimes and Misdemeanors: A History of Impeachment for the Age of Trump (July 2019). Bowman currently teaches law at the University of Missouri School of Law and Georgetown Law. 

Sol Wisenberg was Deputy Independent Counsel in the Whitewater/Lewinsky Investigation, and was selected by Judge Kenneth Starr to conduct grand jury questioning of President Bill Clinton. Prior to his service as independent counsel, Wisenberg served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Texas and North Carolina. Wisenberg also served as Acting Special Counsel for Judicial Selection and Attorney-Advisor in the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Policy in the 1980s. Wisenberg is currently partner and co-chair of the White Collar Defense and Government Investigations practice at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP.
