PBS NEWSHOUR’s Judy Woodruff to Moderate Des Moines Register Presidential Debate
Des Moines, IA– The Des Moines Register will hold a Republican presidential candidate debate on Thursday, January 12, 2012. The Des Moines Register will partner with PBS NEWSHOUR, Iowa Public Television, Google and YouTube for this independent debate.
The debate will be held at Iowa Public Television, 6450 Corporate Drive, Johnston, Iowa.
Voters will have the opportunity to share ideas directly with the debate moderator on Google and YouTube’s platform.
Judy Woodruff, PBS NEWSHOUR senior correspondent, will moderate the debate. Woodruff has covered politics and other news for more than three decades at CNN, NBC and PBS.
“The Des Moines Register continues its long history of hosting the presidential candidate debates and, most important, the responsibility of providing Americans with insightful coverage of the Republican presidential candidates before the Iowa caucuses,” said Rick Green, editor of The Des Moines Register.

The Iowa caucuses are currently scheduled for Feb. 6, 2012.
