PBS NewsHour will provide live coverage and analysis of the Senate Confirmation Hearings for Supreme Court Nominee Elena Kagan which are expected to begin Monday, June 28, at approximately 12:30 PM ET and continue throughout the week. Judy Woodruff will anchor PBS NewsHour’s special coverage from a booth overlooking the hearing room in the Hart Senate Office Building. Marcia Coyle, chief Washington correspondent for the National Law Journal, will provide analysis.
Gavel-to-gavel coverage will begin Monday with the statements by members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Elena Kagan’s opening statement. Special coverage will conclude at the end of Elena Kagan’s appearances before the committee, which is expected to be Wednesday or Thursday. Highlights of testimony from additional witnesses will be included in the PBS NewsHour’s regularly scheduled broadcast (check local listings.)
