President Obama announced a series of gun-control measures–including proposals for enhanced background checks–that are aimed at reducing gun violence after the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn. last month. The measures are a mix of what Obama wants Congress to take and moves that the White House can accomplish without congressional approval, through executive orders.
