Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten one step closer to parole from life sentence

California’s governor announced Friday that he won’t ask the state Supreme Court to block parole for Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten, paving the way for her release after serving 53 years in prison for two infamous murders.

Charles Manson, cult leader and convicted murderer, dies at 83

Charles Manson, who led a cult known as the “Manson Family” and was convicted of multiple murders, died Sunday at age 83 due to natural causes, the California Department of Corrections reported.
