New photos show Philae’s bumpy comet landing

The European Space Agency released the first images of Philae's bumpy landing today. Orbiting spacecraft Rosetta captured the lander drifting across the surface of Comet 67P for half an hour until its first bounce landing.

U.S. Government Looks to List Polar Bear as Threatened

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed listing the polar bear -- a species whose survival depends on the sea ice that is melting as the Earth's temperature rises -- as "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act.
