West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has signed a bill banning gender-affirming care for minors. With the Republican's approval, West Virginia joins at least nine other states that have enacted laws restricting treatments for transgender youth.

Kentucky's Democratic governor has vetoed a sweeping Republican measure aimed at regulating the lives of transgender youths. Gov. Andy Beshear said in his veto message Friday that the bill would increase youth suicides.
