Phil predicts more winter far more often than he sees an early spring, not a bad bet for February and March in western Pennsylvania.

People gathered Thursday at Gobbler's Knob as members of Punxsutawney Phil's "inner circle" summoned the groundhog from his tree stump at dawn to learn if he has seen his shadow — and they say he did.

Don’t stow your snow boots yet! Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter.

There will be six more weeks of winter. That's the prediction made Wednesday by Punxsutawney Phil after he emerged from his burrow in Pennsylvania to perform his Groundhog Day duties.
