Peter Jennings, the journalist and ABC anchorman whose career spanned more than four decades, died of lung cancer at his home in New York late Sunday. He was 67.

ABC News anchor Peter Jennings, the only of the "Big Three" veteran network anchors not to have recently retired from the post, has been diagnosed with lung cancer but plans to keep working through chemotherapy treatment, the network said Tuesday.
Jennings Signs ABC Contract
Peter Jennings, anchor of ABC's "World News Tonight," signed a new contract to extend his tenure as anchor for the next three years and to allow him to create his own production company.
