Haiti's Farms Sow Hope for Rebuilding

A new push to improve Haiti's struggling agricultural sector could provide jobs for many people displaced after January's earthquake. But the nation's farmland is limited in supply and often degraded of nutrients.

The global food shortage and soaring cost of staple foods is a "silent tsunami," the U.N. World Food Program said Tuesday, before a food summit hosted by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to discuss the growing crisis.
