United Methodists begin historic reversal on longstanding anti-LGBTQ policies

The delegates voted to delete mandatory penalties for clergy conducting same-sex marriages. They also removed their denomination's bans on considering LGBTQ candidates for ministry and on funding for gay-friendly ministries.
