Waymo, Uber set aside past rift to team up on self-driving taxis in Phoenix

The partnership announced comes five years after Uber reached a $245 million settlement with Waymo to resolve a lawsuit alleging former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick conspired with former Google engineer Anthony Levandowski to steal Waymo's technology.

Ex-Google engineer charged in Uber self-driving theft case

The indictment filed by the U.S. Attorney's office in San Jose, California, is an offshoot of a lawsuit filed in 2017 by Waymo, a self-driving car pioneer spun off from Google.
