Thousands of people had to be rescued from flooded homes on Wednesday and at least 188 people were reported dead. Last month, a week’s worth of rain caused by a depression in the Bay of Bengal brought the city to a standstill. In what has become typical of such events, people took to social media including Twitter to offer places to stay and other bits of information.
