Dozens more passengers are hospitalized with injuries, and many are in serious condition. The crash occurred along a single track between the towns of Corato and Andria. Each train carried four cars, according to the wire service. The collision’s location, which is rural and hard to access, has obstructed rescue teams, complicating efforts to aid survivors and find victims, fire service spokesman Luca Cari told the Associated Press.
