The memorial was set up in the indoor sports stadium on Wednesday with a giant altar of terraced flowers and framed photos of the students whose funerals have already taken place. Divers continue the search for bodies of the some 150 who are still missing. More corpses have been recovered since the weekend, when currents and visibility prevented divers from entering the underwater ferry. They must now rip through cabin walls in order to retrieve more of the victims. The AP reports the confirmed death toll has reached 156. A free press is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy.
