So we’ve put together a list of some of the organizations involved in the response effort. Updated Aug. 20: On Thursday’s NewsHour, Richard Holbrooke, the U.S. special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, said Americans who want to contribute to the relief effort can text SWAT to the number 50555 and send $10 to the U.N. refugee commission. International Red Cross CARE Catholic Relief Services Doctors Without Borders International Rescue Committee Islamic Relief USA Oxfam America Relief International Save the Children UNICEF World Vision And InterAction has their own list of groups working to respond.
