On Monday, President Obama surveyed the damage after Hurricane Isaac swept through Louisiana and Mississippi. In a press conference in St. John the Baptist Parish just outside of New Orleans, Obama praised federal agencies for their quick response and their management of the disaster.
The president also emphasized the need for early detection and preparation for these kinds of severe storms.
He said that while the region is still in recovery mode, its residents are resilient and the area will be rebuilt. “There is enormous faith here, enormous strength here.”
