Several world leaders gathered for the summit in an effort to support the ceasefire in Gaza and develop plans for next steps, such as creating a post-war government for Gaza. Israel’s war in Gaza has left much of the territory devastated with urban areas razed and, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 67,000 Palestinians were killed. Trump predicted that the rebuilding of Gaza would be “the easiest part.” WATCH: Palestinians celebrate return of prisoners released by Israel “It’s in one sense, it’s so horrible that it could have taken place, but in another sense, it’s so beautiful to see a new and beautiful day is rising,” he said. “And now, the rebuilding begins.” “I think we’ve done a lot of the hardest part because the rest comes together,” he added.
