With World Environment Day, UN hopes to raise climate awareness

The United Nation’s version of Earth Day, World Environment Day, occurs annually on June 5 and encourages “worldwide awareness and action for the environment.” First celebrated in 1973, a different country hosts each year. Barbados hosts this year with the theme “Raise your voice, not the sea level.”
