Pretend Play With The Cat in the Hat Mask

Apr 12, 2019

Enjoy some pretend play with a DIY Cat in the Hat mask.

Materials

Directions

1

Cut out the center of the paper plate to create a place for your child’s face to show through. Have him color the remaining part of the paper plate with black markers, if he would like.

2

Help your child cut out a bow from the red construction paper and tape, glue, or staple it to the bottom of the plate. This will be the chin area when the plate is positioned next to your child’s face.

3

Help your child cut out whiskers and cat ears from the black construction paper and secure them in their respective places on the paper plate.

4

Help your child cut out the shape of the hat (make it as tall as he would like!) and color in the red stripes. Then, secure the hat to the top of the paper plate. This will be the forehead area when positioned next to his face.

5

Have your child tape or glue a popsicle stick to the inside of the plate at the very bottom. Now the mask is ready to use! Encourage your child to go on learning adventures just like The Cat in the Hat!
