What Your Child Will Learn From a Weather Calendar
By charting weather with your child, you will help them develop observation skills. Your child will also learn how to record what they notice and practice sharing their research with you and others. Keeping a weather chart is also a great way for children to learn more about nature and the environment.
Questions to Ask About Your Child’s Weather Journal
As you and your child observe and record what you notice on the weather journal, it's helpful to ask your child questions. Here are some suggestions:
- How would you describe today's weather?
- How does today's weather make you feel?
- What can we draw that reflects today's weather?
- Do you remember what the weather was like yesterday? How was it different than what you notice about today's weather?
