Materials

Directions

1

Using your hands, break apart your cake into the widest, biggest mixing bowl you have.

2

Crumble the cake pieces between your fingertips until you have a big bowl of crumbs.

3

Scoop half of the tub of frosting into the bowl of crumbs. Mix well with a spatula or spoon until all of the crumbs are moist and coated with frosting.

4

Set the mixture in the freezer for about 30 minutes.

5

With the cookie dough scoop, scoop out a rounded portion of the mixture. Roll it between your hands, working it well so that it rolls together nicely and doesn't break apart.

6

Repeat until you have rolled the entire bowl of crumbs into cake balls. You should end up with around 30 pops, although this depends on the size you roll the pops. Keep in mind, you may lose a few before you get a little practice in, so make sure to plan accordingly if you think you'll need extra.

7

Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper and place the balls on top, covering it with plastic wrap. Set them in the refrigerator for 4 hours or in the freezer for 2 hours.

8

Remove your cake pops from the refrigerator. Using a coffee mug, place a small layer of white chocolate candy melts inside and heat until the candy is melted. Heating times will vary depending on your microwave, so it is best to do it in 20-30 second intervals and stir in between. If your candy is think or over-heated, add a little oil to the mixture to thin it out.

9

Dip the end of your cookie stick into the melted candy and insert into the middle of the cake ball. Repeat the above steps until all of your cake pops are placed on sticks.

10

Set the cake balls in the freezer for another 10 minutes.

11

Lay out the juice glasses (or foam) to be used as a holder for your cake pops to dry once they are covered in the melted white candy.

12

Fill a fresh coffee mug about 3/4 full with candy melts. Heat in the microwave in 20-30 second increments, stirring in between. Once your candy is melted, add a few drops of oil and stir well to thin it out.

13

Remove your cake pops from the refrigerator and dip them one by one into the melted candy - you may lose a few before you are good at it! Tip the coffee mug at a 45 degree angle, set the cake pop in sideways, spin them around, and make sure the entire ball is covered.

14

Repeat the process until all of the cake pops are covered with candy, placing them one by one into the juice glasses or foam to dry. Make sure they are not touching! Let them rest for 10 minutes.

15

Using the tubes of colored frosting or edible markers, draw fun doodle designs - think rainbows, smiley faces, yellow suns, zig zags, curly cues, polka dots, and animal outlines! Have fun!
