Billy Graham secured his first meeting with a president on July 14, 1950, when he met with Harry S. Truman. His relationships with the presidents spanned administrations, decades and political parties. Graham was present for many of the most turbulent moments of the latter 20th century, offering spiritual counsel on everything from personal scandal to war.
