With incisive documentaries complemented by innovative digital content and dynamic social media, American Experience re-examines and explores the moments and individuals that history books often overlook. With a commitment to sharing diverse perspectives, the series elevates new voices—both in front of the lens and behind the camera.

GBH’s Documentary Investment Group serves as a mechanism for individuals and families to make philanthropic gifts in support of American Experience. Gifts to the series support all aspects of film production, development of digital content, and more. The Documentary Investment Group is named on all broadcast films and select media assets produced by American Experience. Additionally, donors who make a major gift to the series who would like recognition on national American Experience broadcasts, will be thanked with on air credits commensurate with their level of support.

Members of the Documentary Investment Group also enjoy exclusive access to American Experience and GBH events and screenings, as well as opportunities to meet filmmakers and producers. With more than 30 years of excellence in historical documentary filmmaking, and a new executive producer at the helm, there has never been a more exciting time to invest in the future of American Experience.
