Devin Maverick Robins is a seasoned audio storyteller and the Managing Producer of Podcasts at GBH, where she leads the organization’s expanding podcast portfolio with a strong emphasis on strategic audience engagement, making it a go-to source for compelling narratives that matter to listeners everywhere. As Executive Producer for GBH's debut original series “The Big Dig,” she helmed a breakthrough success that garnered a 2023 Peabody Award, amassed over 5 million downloads, and claimed the #1 spot on Apple's history podcast charts. The groundbreaking series was also celebrated among 2023's finest podcasts, earning a coveted spot on The New Yorker's Top 10 list.
Currently, Robins is spearheading two major productions: the 10-part anthology “American Experience Presents,” which brings a fresh take on the iconic stories told on TV's most-watched history series, and “Scratch & Win,” an 8-part narrative that uncovers the shocking truth of how Massachusetts inadvertently ignited America's $100 billion gambling revolution. Her versatility shines through her contributions across GBH's diverse podcast offerings, including GBH News podcasts "College Uncovered" and "What is Owed," while also lending her expertise to The World's limited series "Lethal Dissent." Her impact spans both children's and adult programming, as she plays a pivotal role in developing engaging content for young listeners with shows like "Keyshawn Solves It," "Pinkalicious & Peterrific," "The Arthur Podcast," and "Work It Out Wombats! Podcast." Additionally, she crafts episodes for acclaimed national series such as "ANTIQUES ROADSHOW's Detours," “NOVA Now” "The FRONTLINE Dispatch," and "American Veteran."
Beyond GBH, Robins has created influential podcasts across major media platforms. She launched Barron's MarketWatch's "Best New Ideas in Money" and produced several hit shows for The Wall Street Journal, including "The Journal" and "The Future of Everything." At The Black Effect Podcast Network and iHeartRadio, she served as lead producer and sound designer for "Reparations: The Big Payback," a 12-episode narrative hosted by actress Erika Alexander. As Senior Producer at Knowable, she crafted compelling series with notable voices like Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian on startups, NBA All-Star Chris Paul on plant-based living, and astronaut Scott Kelly on his groundbreaking year in space.
With 12 years of experience as an audio producer, director, and editor at NPR, her professional journey includes working with other esteemed organizations including The New York Times, PBS, PRX, and American Public Media. She serves as a judge for the Ambies, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Awards, and Society for Professional Journalism Awards. Robins holds degrees in Journalism & Communications from San Diego State University and the University of Southern California and has completed advanced fellowship programs at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and Columbia Journalism School.
