Sorry, wrong. But you're getting closer. You chose Mars,
the solar system's seventh largest planet in diameter. Early
in its development Mars was probably similar to the Earth,
but it didn't develop liquid water. Martian temperatures
vary from 150 K to 295 K. Several spacecraft have visited
Mars; Mariner 4 was the first one to do so in 1965. More
visits are planned in 1997. Mars made the news in August
1996 when scientists announced they found possible evidence
of ancient microorganisms in a Martian meteorite.
