Dear FRONTLINE,

I believe this program describes just one of many social consequences that is the result of cuts that affect social programs.

Prisons have indeed become the new asylums across the nation and continued and consistent reductions in funding for social services are likely to further exacerbate the problem. For those of us who are providers of mental health services we must be proactive in expressing our concerns to our government representatives so they become aware that increasing correctional budgets are the direct result of cuts in spending on social services.

Without prompt and serious consideration of the consequences of the lack of services we can expect to continue to experience increased stress on an already over-stressed and ineffective service delivery systems in mental health as well as health care in general.

Dear FRONTLINE,

This film is the total disgrace of a society that calls itself humane. A society that allows billions to be spend on wars and catastrophic weapons has nothing to offer to its most disadvantaged members.

This film made me feel ashamed that I am a member of this society.
