Chris Guarino
Chris Guarino is an award-winning news and documentary producer with more than 20 years experience in producing both breaking news and long-form news programming.

While at CNN Guarino served as executive producer of the network's political unit, and was also responsible for such signature series as "Inside Politics" and "Crossfire." In addition, his wide-ranging political journalism experience encompassed coverage during each election cycle for nearly two decades in the 80s and 90s, including floor and podium producing at every political convention since 1984.

Guarino headed up the team at CNN that was awarded the 1999 duPont-Columbia Journalism Award for his coverage of the impeachment and trial of President Bill Clinton. A 1998 series on campaign finance entitled "The Money Trail" earned a Joan Barone Award for excellence in radio and television coverage. Other notable works include a 1990 Clarion Award for best documentary series for his work on "Waging Peace," a 30-part series on conflict resolution around the world, and an ACE (Award for Cable Excellence) in 1988 for outstanding news series as producer of "Inside Politics '88."

Guarino was also on the scene as a reporter and producer for CNN's coverage of such historic breaking stories as the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the election of Nelson Mandela as president of South Africa in 1994, and the election recount in Florida in 2000. During his career he has collaborated with and produced for some of the most distinguished names in the news business: Bernard Shaw, Judy Woodruff, Wolf Blitzer, Frank Sesno, Daniel Schorr and Robert Novak.

A graduate of Ohio University, Guarino is now an independent producer living with his family in the Washington, D.C. area.
