Early 1900s — Old Hudson's Bay Company posts evolve into shops in growing western cities.

1910 - 1914 — HBC builds and expands department stores in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Victoria.

1920 — Hudson's Bay Company celebrates its 250th anniversary.

1920 — HBC opens Newfoundland fishing and packing industry.

1926 — HBC builds the world's largest fur auction house in London.

1929 — Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas Company formed.

1950 - 70 — Hudson's Bay Gas and Oil Company pioneers several gas discoveries.

1965 — HBC is renamed "The Bay" as part of image change.

1987 — The Bay sells Northern Stores, its wholesale operation, its fur auction houses and Roxy Petroleum, becoming a department store chain.
