About the Author
Betsy Norris is a middle school classroom English teacher.
She received her ED.S from Middle Tennessee State University in
Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She oversees all technology in her building.
In 1999, her school was selected as one of ten schools awarded the
Annual National Business Week Awards for Instructional Technology.
As part of this award, she has spent much time this year presenting
seminars and training sessions to help teachers integrate technology
and the Internet into their curriculum. In addition to teaching sixth
grade, she teaches all types of adult computer classes at the local
Tennessee Technology Center, co-authors her school website, and serves
on the system wide technology committee. Her class was recently spotlighted
by the Hewlett Packard Telementoring project. She was recently named the
1999 Tennessee Technology and Learning Teacher of the Year.
