Who Cares? Dallas Cares!
"Who Cares: Chronic Illness in America" Airing on KDTN, on Monday October 1 at 9PM.
October 25, 2001: Broadening the dialogue on the issues of chronic illness, student journalists from Greenhill School, a local member of
Fred Friendly Seminars' national outreach partner Columbia Scholastic Press Association, have been matched with persons with
chronic illness and their caregivers to conduct interviews for publication in their school newspaper. Prior to the student interviews,
Sherry Jacobson, Health Care Reporter for the Dallas Morning News met today with student journalists to provide insights and tips to
guide their interviews.
Some student journalists met with children with chronic illness and their families at Our Children's Home, a temporary residential
rehabilitation facility affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center. Others met with caregivers from Caring Services of
Southeast Dallas and their care recipients. Caring Services of Southeast Dallas is a caregiving organization that is
affiliated with Fred Friendly Seminars' national outreach partner Faith in Action.
