Portland, Oregon Community Day
Portland Public High School Library Donation
Fred Friendly Seminars and OPB worked with Portland Public Schools to donate a selection of books to ten high school libraries to help educate young people about chronic illness and caregiving.
Donations included titles such as "Young People and Chronic Illness: True Stories, Help, and Hope" and "The Chronic Illness Experience: Embracing the Imperfect Life," as well as program tapes and discussion guides.
Posters and fliers announcing the WHO CARES: Chronic Illness in America broadcast date and the availability of chronic disease-related resources for young people were placed throughout each library.
Multnomah County Library Outreach
Fred Friendly Seminars also worked with Multnomah County Library to have fliers announcing the "WHO CARES: Chronic Illness in America" broadcast date and the availability of chronic disease-related resources at each of their 38 branches.
