President Bush, in an exclusive interview, defended his administration's efforts to build a democratic nation in Iraq, refused to discuss reported monitoring of telecommunications by the National Security Agency and declared that although Iraq was not involved in the 9/11 attacks it is now the frontline in the war against terrorism.
