'The Proud Leader of a Proud Nation:' Mubarak and Egypt in the State Department WikiLeaks Cables

Seventy-six State Department cables sent from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo have been released by WikiLeaks since November. The dispatches date from 2005 until 2010. They offer a pragmatic portrait of President Mubarak, the Egyptian government and the politics in the Arab world. Below are some excerpts.
