'Better This World': POV Film Examines Plot Behind a Protest

By: Hari Sreenivasan

"Better this World" is the name of a film airing on POV Tuesday night, but it may as well be the credo and intentions behind the two central characters and their decision to protest the Republican National Convention in 2008.

David McKay and Bradley Crowder, were arrested for making eight homemade bombs, (which were never actually used) but there is a twist. Here is the trailer:

Producers Katie Galloway, Kelly Duane de la Vega, and Mike Nicholson could have chosen to focus on what happened next, examining the state of domestic terrorism and the U.S. government's work against it -- but their story is far more fascinating because they chose to look at what unfolded prior to the event.

They discover an unnerving amount of influence over the young men exercised by none other than an FBI informant. NewsHour Art Beat first sat down with two of the producers this spring at the Full Frame documentary festival.
