In an emergency room in a rebel-controlled area of Aleppo, doctors race against time to repair wounded rebel fighters and civilians, including children.

The hospital itself has been bombed three times and is running short on oxygen, among other supplies, reports James Foley of GlobalPost.

"I see children, women, killed slowly. I can't do anything to help them," says one medical worker in broken English. "So every day I have a fight inside myself ... between what we can do at this hospital and sad, very sad, mixed sad."
