Senate rejects latest House effort
In a 54-46 vote, Senators again dispatched a measure sent by the House that funded the government but also tweaked the health care law.
Speaker John Boehner is meeting with his Republican Conference now, and we are hearing that the next step could be a vote on that so-called "clean" continuing resolution, which only would deal with government funding. For those keeping score at home, the current funding for the government expires at midnight, so we're this close to a shutdown.
