President Accepts Nomination, Outlines Second Term Goals
President Bush and Vice President Cheney In a speech that outlined a litany of domestic projects he would focus on in a second term, and plans to continue the war on terrorism, President Bush made the case for his reelection on Thursday night, drawing chants of "Four more years" from Republican delegates.

"We are staying on the offensive -- striking terrorists abroad -- so we do not have to face them here at home," the president said. "And we will prevail."

To get a final assessment of the president's speech and the Republican convention, Jim Lehrer talks with columnists Mark Shields and David Brooks and historians Michael Beschloss, Richard Norton Smith and Meena Bose.
