January 2005 marks Lara Spencer’s debut as host of ANTIQUES ROADSHOW FYI, a new PBS series based on the wildly popular ANTIQUES ROADSHOW. In addition, Spencer returns for her second season at the helm of ANTIQUES ROADSHOW.
Spencer also co-hosts Paramount’s syndicated series The Insider, with Pat O’Brien. Her credits include five years as correspondent for ABC News’s Good Morning America, reporting on lifestyle, fashion, and relationship trends, and as a contributor of reports on the offbeat aspects of life — from the Pokemon craze to the best mutts in America — since 1999. Her special series, In Search of America: Fifty States in Fifty Weeks, found her on the road for GMA in a red convertible, exploring each and every U.S. state. In the summer of 2000, Spencer invited viewers to celebrate her nuptials from start to finish as she planned her wedding and taped a video diary of the festivities for Good Morning America.
Previously, Spencer covered lifestyle, feature, and human interest stories for WABC-TV’s “Eyewitness News.” At WABC-TV, Spencer covered the crash of TWA Flight 800 and was sent to London to cover the death of Princess Diana. She came to WABC-TV from News 12 in Long Island. Prior to that, she reported for WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Spencer resides with her husband in Connecticut. She holds a B.A. degree in journalism from Pennsylvania State University.
