In July of 2003, several artworks were discovered to be missing from two buildings at Hobcaw Barony, the former estate of Belle W. Baruch. Belle was the daughter of well-known financial hotshot and presidential advisor, Bernard Baruch. There is a $25,000 reward being offered by The Belle W. Baruch Foundation for information leading to the return of the items.
