Answer to Clay. The flower you are looking for is found in the the States under Narcissus Paper White Lily. Yes, its the same one used in spiritual cleansings. Just so happens to be found right now in Home Depot Garden Centers or Whole Foods, look for the bulbs.

First in answer to Clay, the flower is called Azucena, and it is of the lily variety. There are many types of azucenas. they are trumpet looking and belong to the deity Obatala if they are the white variety, there are also purple ones (not of the same variety as the white, more like morning glory) which are said to belong to the deity Babalu Aye, although Babalu's flower is the Gladioulus. You are probably looking for the white variety. they are the very strong scented ones and large white flowers. They are used in any ritual that involves Obatala, along with many other flowers, as long as they are white. Obatala is a peaceful and calm deity and is invoked in many rituals when peace and calm to a situation or place is wished for. Now to the tiny shell with occupant. It is known as "cangrejito" wich just means little crab. It's not a crab per se, it is however a tiny crustacean, we used to know them as crangrejito de cojimar. Cojimar is a beach in Cuba. Is that where she found it? There is an insect in Cuba that is called a "cocuyo" it hides in the crevices of trees in the dark and you can tell it's in there because their eyes glow in the dark. You can coax them out with a light and they look like a black cocoon with a pointed snout and spindly long legs. weird, but then again Cuba has the weirdest insects and the hugest scorpions I've ever seen. Also Cuba the most exotic fruits you'll ever see or taste. Cuba is probably the most beautiful island in the Caribean, and has species that are yet to be catalogued, that little frog written about on this page, it was known to natives of that area long, long before it was "discovered" in 1990. Maybe it was catalogued in 1990, but it certainly was well known before that.
