However, banks make their money by keeping their customers' money safe. Banks have spent millions of dollars to make sure all their accounts will remain safe over New Years.

If there is a problem, accurate and up-to-date records will help you correct any mistakes. So save all your account reports for 1999 in a nice and safe place, just in case.
