Known as "Chicago's Quilting Queen," Bertha Stenge began her
formal art training at the San Francisco College of Art.
After
marrying and raising a family, she re-entered the art world through her
quilts. The Quilting Party, made in the medallion style of early 1800's
quilts, is among her most memorable works and incorporates vintage 1800s
era fabrics.
